Boy Will Not Be Denied Tee Ball Opportunity

Kai Lumpkins loves to watch baseball and as 6 year old his peers are now playing tee ball. But Kai is a little different because he has Cerebral Palsy and lives his life in a wheelchair.

According to Crossroads Kai's mom Jessica was told he couldn't play tee-ball because of the wheelchair. Next year he could play little league because they make accommodations at that level for kids in wheelchairs. Jessica says "we talked to Cory Banda the President of Little League, and he wrote to the home office in Pennsylvania and asked if Kai could play and they wrote back saying yes and it was so awesome for us."

His dad Jarred, is former baseball player, has become the coach and is very proud of his son. Kai’s older brother Cade says that he’s learning from his younger brother that anyone can achieve their goals, no matter the challenges they face.

Kai also wants to encourage other kids in wheelchairs who are interested in baseball to join a tee ball team. "They get to track the ball and they get to run the bases all they want, and they get to have all the fun. I can also tell you that your confidence in baseball and really every thing in life gets bigger every day".

On a related note his Mom has started a go fund me page to get a van so Kai can wheel himself in rather than having to be carried to a car.
