To come up with the list, Holafly created a “culture score” for 100 of the most populated cities in the U.S. based on the number of theaters, live music venues, museums, landmarks, and art galleries per 100-thousand people.
New Orleans tops the list with the most cultural attractions and experiences per capita. “The Big Easy” is home to St Louis Cathedral, the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Cathedral in the country, located in the historic French Quarter. The Louisiana city is also known for historic architecture and tons of music venues, including Preservation Hall.
The best city for museums is Arlington, Virginia, followed by Nashville. San Francisco wins for best city for music venues, and best city for landmarks/points of interest. New Orleans is the best city for art galleries, followed by Miami.
Surprisingly, New York City is only 43rd on the list of most cultured cities. No South Carolina cities made the list
