How You Decorate Your Tree Tells The World Who You Are

The NY Post spoke with Inbaal Honigman, a tarot card reader at Tarotoo.com. “The fact that you can bring your energy into your Christmas decorations is a beautiful way to embrace the spirit of the season.”

Here’s what your Christmas tree decorating style says about your personality, according to Honigman:

  • “The Outgoing Socializer” - This person’s tree is full of color, ornaments with pop culture references and is all about being “loud, proud and fun.”
  • “The Minimalist” - This one is low-key with simple wooden ornaments and just a few white lights, so it doesn’t “overwhelm the space around it.”
  • “The Maximalist” - These folks don’t care what anyone thinks and their trees are over the top with ribbons, lots of bright lights and every single inch is covered.
  • “The Nature Enthusiast” - True nature lovers may have a tree with rustic, forest-inspired decorations, like pinecones, dried fruit wood and a reclaimed wood base.
  • “The Cat Person” - Knowing that curious cats and valuable ornaments don’t mix, this person creates a cat-friendly tree that’s smaller, loaded with shatterproof ornaments and secured to a wall to make sure it doesn’t get toppled.
  • “The Sentimental Family Person” - They put up every single ornament their kids ever made and would never get rid of any of those cherished memories.
  • “The Quirky Creative” - This type likes to challenge the idea of what a Christmas tree should look like, they go unconventional with design, shape and colors.
  • “The Tech Enthusiast” - Displayed in front of a digital firepit, their tree is covered in LED lights that change colors with patterns and can be controlled from a smartphone.
