Daniel Radcliffe Returning As Harry Potter!

Back in 2010 there were rumors of an 8th Harry Potter book being written by J.K. Rowling. That led the press to asking Daniel Radcliffe if he would renew his portrayal of Harry Potter in the movie that would surely follow the book. His answer disappointed fans. "10 years in the same role is long enough for one man. I don't think she's writing any more books, but if she does, another actor will have to play Harry Potter".

And yet here we are a decade later and the news out of Variety this morning that Daniel Radcliffe is going to play Harry Potter again! However it's not a new movie, but rather an old book.

A live-reading of the series' first book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.” Radcliffe will be joined by other stars like Stephen Fry, David Beckham, Dakota Fanning, Eddie Redmayne and more

The stars won’t just be reading a chapter or two – they’ll be reading the entire book chapter-by-chapter in a series of free videos and audio recordings rolling out over the next several months. Each star will read different sections of the beloved fantasy novel, delivering its messages of family, friendship, courage and overcoming adversities as families and fans around the world adjust to the “new normal” of quarantine.

Between now and mid-summer, readings of all 17 chapters of the book will be posted weekly HERE.Kicking off the series is Radcliffe, who played the boy wizard on screen, reading the first chapter “The Boy Who Lived” – You can hear Daniel reading the first chapter here.
