Governor Brought To Tears After Citizens Thank Her For Keeping State Open

On Tuesday South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem received a parade from citizens of her state that wanted to thank her for keeping their state open despite pressure to follow other Governors to issue stay at home orders.

John Morris of Morris Inc. construction company, put together the parade by texting as many people as he could. He said the parade ended up having "literally hundreds of cars, fire trucks and other vehicles honking their horns and sirens" while Noem watched, shocked, from a local park. As she realized what was happening she began to cry.

Morris was compelled to put this on with his wife because of negative responses to her orders. "We just felt bad that the leadership of our state was kind of getting lambasted for her decision [not to close the state]. In South Dakota when somebody's getting discouraged or down on their luck, that's what we do: We step up for each other".
