South Carolina Restaurant Accused Of Selling FrozePizza's As Homemade

The Post & Courier is reporting that a wine bar in Charleston named Coquin has begun offering pizzas for delivery this past weekend. They promoted it on their website and through Instagram ads.

The chef-owner Chip Grimalda says people are raving about how good their pizza is!

That's not completely true. Some people contacted the paper to complain that this was simply a frozen pizza that had been heated up and then marked up around 700 percent!

When Grimalda was asked about it by the reporter he said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about. It’s definitely not Costco, and that’s all I have to say.” Smooth Chip. Very smooth.

The paper found the garbage cans filled with Kirkland pizza boxes which are the brand sold at Costco. Each box has 4 pizzas and the box goes for $10. He is charging $20 per pizza. When they asked him about that he said “There’s a lot of Airbnb’s in the neighborhood.” Rather than offering additional comment, he said he’s looking forward to reading this story.
