Woman drives hundreds of miles to quarantine with boyfriend.

A writer named Samantha Grindell shares that she had initially planned to hole up in New York for the duration of her self-isolation, since she was now being forced to work from home. She thought about going to Atlanta to be with her family, but with her parents both over 60 and her grandmother 91 she didn’t want to risk possibly getting them sick.

She and her boyfriend Kemp did their best to see each other, while maintaining a safe distance. But they knew eventually they would’t be able to see each other at all since she lives in Manhattan and Kemp lives in Brooklyn, which means travel to each other would be out of the question.

She said the idea of not seeing Kemp filled her with “anxiety,” but then the perfect solution came. Kemp texted that his sister had offered they hunker down with her in Washington, DC, and Samantha says she was “immediately relieved.” She choose to accept because she felt there were many positives to DC like isolating in a bigger home, but most of all being able to be together.
