The Whisper app is sharing some of the worst backhanded compliments that women say they’ve received:
- “I don’t like girls with short hair, but you’re pretty.”
- “You are too cute to be single, you must be the crazy one.”
- “You’re a beautiful ‘black' woman. Why can’t I just be a beautiful woman? Why the need to emphasize my skin color?”
- “Your hair looks nice TODAY? Why don’t you do it like this all the time?”
- “'You have a beautiful pregnancy glow'…I wasn’t pregnant.”
- “I was told by an ex I have a body of a porn star, but my face isn’t good enough.”
- “’You’ve got such a pretty face’ or ‘you’d be gorgeous if you just slimmed down a bit.’ I’m fat. Take it or leave it.”
- “You’re cute sure. Not hot by any means. But cute.”
- “'You may not be the most interesting, but you get your work done and I thank you for that'…my ignorant boss.”
- “You’re pretty smart for a black girl. You don’t talk like a black girl either.”
- “Your legs are so pretty. What happened to the rest of you?”
- “'You look good for your age.' PSA: Never say this to a woman. Actually, never say this to anyone.”
