TN Hospital Won't Charge Tornado Victims

The images of Nashville being shredded by a tornado will haunt most of our memories for a long time. And the rebuilding will take years! However for the 82 people who were sent to Cookeville Regional Medical Center they won’t be charged..

Spokeswoman Melahn Finley tells News Channel 5 that the hospital will bill each patient’s insurance company and accept the insurance’s payment as payment in full. “We will not bill patients for the remaining portion after insurance,” she says. “If they don’t have insurance, they will not be charged.”

These people have so much to deal with. Burying relatives, rebuilding homes, replacing businesses. As a community we need their contributions, so we wanted to do what we could to help them get back on their feet as soon as possible.
