Millions of users show off their dance moves and lip-syncing skills on TikTok, but now the video-sharing social network may have helped save someone’s life.Alex Griswold shared a video about married life and showed his back in it, with a couple moles on it. Two total people who watched it saw something disturbing about those moles and reached out to him to warn of a possible sign of skin cancer.
Lizzie Wells was one of the helpful strangers and being a melanoma survivor herself, she felt the need to contact Griswold about the danger. "I immediately paused the video and I was like, 'I need to get a hold of this person." She’s also studying to become a doctor, so he listened to her and went to the dermatologist, where his irregular mole was removed. Lizzie says "going through the trauma myself, you don't want other people to go through that."
Griswold has thanked his tipsters in a video and says them reaching out “is the perfect reminder that the world is a wonderful place.”
