Reality TV star Jenelle Evans originally said she made up the story about her husband David Eason killing the family dog for “publicity.” But it looks like that was a lie, because he just admitted he did kill the French Bulldog named Nugget.
Speaking to People magazine, Eason says that while it was a hard decision because he "loved" the dog, he had to do it for the sake of his daughter’s safety. "Yes, she might not be huge or whatever, but you know when a dog bites a child on the face more than one time, then it should never be around the child again”. In his mind, giving the dog up for adoption wasn’t an option because the dog would endanger another child, and neither was calling the cops because he didn’t want to pay to have his dog euthanized “when I could do it myself.”
And about the police report, Evans now says that she didn’t want the incident to go public because she considers it a “private family issue.” Wondering how word got out? Well, Evans posted about the dogs passing on her Instagram... and then TMZ got a hold of a related 911 call made that same day.
If you’re wondering if Eason’s sudden confession –on video, for that matter – could affect local authorities’ case against him… you’re right to. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that local police are aware of the video confession and are thinking about reopening his case and possibly charging him with animal cruelty.
