USC & Clemson Make List Of Top Universities in US

“U.S. News & World Report” has come out with their 2019 Best Colleges list, evaluating more than 1,400 schools across the country looking at things like academic quality and outcome measures – including graduation rates, retention rates and social mobility.

The mag’s pick for Top National University is once again Princeton University, with Harvard coming in second, but they also have singled out other schools for a variety of reasons. For example, Williams College in Massachusetts tops the list for the Top National Liberal Arts school for another year, while University of California, Los Angeles is the Top Public School, and University of California, Riverside is the top school for social mobility, meaning it’s the school that best serves underrepresented students.

Top National Universities

1. Princeton University (NJ)

2. Harvard University (MA)

3. Columbia University (NY) (tie)

3. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (tie)

3. Yale University (CT) (tie)

The only 2 from our state to make the list are Clemson at #70 and University of South Carolina at 104.
