With ice storms in the forecast, one Olathe, Kansas police sergeant went above and beyond for a resident who needed help with her roof. Sgt. Brian Wessling stepped up to help an elderly woman who called the police because she was worried a hole in her roof and the ice storms and she said she had no one else to help her.
When officers couldn’t find any other volunteers to do the work, Wessling grabbed his tools and some shingles and went to fix it himself.
Sunday we received a call from a woman who had a hole in her roof & was worried about the ice storms. With nowhere else to turn she called us. When officers couldn't find anyone to repair it, Sgt. Wessling stepped in. He went home, grab his tools & some shingles and repaired it. pic.twitter.com/uyTqXztlfh— Olathe Police (@OlathePolice) February 22, 2018
