WalletHub has just come out with their list of the Best Cities for St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations. They ranked 200 of the biggest cities in the country on 15 factors in four main areas: St. Patrick’s Day Traditions, Costs, Safety & Accessibility and St. Patrick’s Day Weather. Cities were rated on everything from the parades to the number of Irish pubs and restaurants per capita to the share of Irish population to the average price of a beer.
Using those parameters, not a surprise that Boston came in #1. Savannah is always way up in these rankings came in #3. I was hoping for a little better ranking for Columbia but we came in #20.
- Boston, Massachusetts
- Reno, Nevada
- Savannah, Georgia
- Santa Rosa, California
- Worcester, Massachusetts
- Chicago, Illinois
- New York, New York
- Henderson, Nevada
- Buffalo, New York
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Fun facts from the report include:
The city with the highest percentage of Irish population is Naperville, Illinois, followed by Overland Park, Kansas. The city with the lowest is Hialeah, Florida.
New York City has the most Irish pubs and restaurants per capita, followed by Tampa and San Francisco.
