Cole Swindell debuted the title track of his upcoming studio album on Friday (March 28). The ballad arrives after the singer-songwriter shared a few teasers that had fans “obsessed already,” with only a sneak peek.

Swindell recently announced details about his fifth studio album, Spanish Moss, a 21-track record two years in the making. Spanish Moss follows Stereotype (2022) and its deluxe edition, Stereotype Broken (2023), which included “Drinkaby,” “Never Say Never” with Lainey Wilson, and the award-winning Jo Dee Messina-inspired single, “She Had Me At Heads Carolina,” to list a few. Swindell said following Stereotype would be “a tough task…but sometimes a challenge can be motivating and exactly what’s needed to grow.”

The country star married his wife, Courtney Little Swindell, in an intimate ceremony in June 2024. They recently announced they’re expecting Baby No. 1 this year. Swindell said “life has changed a lot for me in the best way since the last project and I wanted to be able write and sing about those blessings while also not forgetting where I came from and the pain from the past.” Swindell is one of several country artists welcoming a baby in 2025, along with Lauren Alaina, Lady A’s Hillary Scott, Lady A’s Charles Kelley, Sam Hunt and more. “The day we wrote the song ‘Spanish Moss’ I could tell we had something special and different for me, and I even thought to myself then ‘Spanish Moss could be such a cool album title’ considering it holds a special place in my heart and reminds me of where my Dad lived when I was growing up,” Swindell continued later in his statement when he announced his album. “From working with songwriters and producers I had never worked with to going back to the drawing board more times than I care to mention, I think having that patience and taking those chances really made this project what it was always meant to be and unlike anything I’ve ever done. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the entire album from top to bottom and I truly hope they can find a little of themselves and their own stories somewhere along the way in Spanish Moss.”

Swindell is part of the star-studded lineup of the 2025 iHeartCountry Festival, which is slated to take place on Saturday, May 3. The festival, hosted by iHeartRadio’s Bobby Bones, will return to Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Other artists in the lineup include Brooks & Dunn, Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts, Sam Hunt, Megan Moroney, Bailey Zimmerman and Nate Smith.
