A new sleep trend on TikTok, known as "adult swaddling," has gained popularity for its claimed benefits of reducing anxiety, improving posture, and promoting restful sleep. The technique involves wrapping oneself tightly in cloth, similar to how babies are swaddled while lying in the fetal position. Advocates say it works by stimulating touch receptors in the skin, which can induce a calming effect.

The trend took off after the Hugsleep Swaddle Blanket was featured on “Shark Tank” and has since spread across TikTok. Though some users claim swaddling helps with sleep issues and insomnia, sleep experts caution that there isn't yet scientific evidence proving its effectiveness. However, similar techniques, like weighted blankets, have shown some potential to ease anxiety and improve sleep in small studies
