At the conclusion of a three-day trial in Somerset County, Maine, a 31-year-old man named Nicholas Carter was convicted of assaulting a 14-month-old child. Following his conviction as deputies were trying to lead him off to prison, he broke free and bolted out the door! He made it to the hallway and then actually onto the street. Central Maine.com reports 2 jurors joined the chase. Despite the plain clothes officers in pursuit the jurors are the ones who ran him down.
