Ticket Issued For Something I Didn't Know Was Illegal

Sandy Snakeberg is a disabled Navy veteran who lives in his van in La Jolla, California. The one joy he has in life is entertaining kids with his bubble blowing. He calls himself "The Bubble Pirate" and was putting on a bubble-making show for dozens of families last weekend at a park when things took an unexpected turn.

KGTV reports the show was interrupted by a Park Ranger who shut it down and wrote Snakeberg a ticket for violating the municipal code for littering. (Video here)

The Ranger said the soapy liquid was bad for the grass. A La Jolla city spokesperson said "The individual uses up to six gallons of liquid per day, with the residual chemicals ending up in the lawn areas, which can cause damage to the grass.

However Sandy says they're wrong. He says he has six-gallon jugs of the solution, but the majority of it does not end up in the grass, and the mixture has a 25/1 ratio of diluted detergent. so even if I dumped all 6 gallons on the grass it wouldn't hurt it.

Have you ever heard of anyone getting a ticket for "fluid littering."
