A woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, was fed up with her packages being stolen. KSBY TV reports the woman in Santa Barbara County, California, mailed herself a package, but placed an Apple AirTag inside. Sure enough, that package was also stolen!
Santa Barbara County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call from the woman and met her at the Los Alamos Post Office. She then helped them track her stolen package to the thieves’ location 16 miles away in Santa Maria.
They also had packages from a dozen other people at the home. They believe there are probably hundreds of victims of these 2. Virginia Lara, 27, of Santa Maria and Donald Terry, 37, of Riverside have been charged with identity theft, credit card theft and conspiracy.
