Americans are more divided than ever according to a new survey. Dating.com looks at the impact of the upcoming presidential election on the dating habits and relationships of American singles. And it finds a major dealbreaker for many is being a member of the opposite party. 65% of respondents said they would have no interest in dating someone from the other party.
72% of respondents have engaged in a politically charged conversation with a match since the debate between President Biden and Donald Trump back in June.
There's also been a 15% increase in daters adding their political parties to their dating profiles since June.
Sitting out the election isn't an option either as 68% wouldn’t be interested in dating someone who doesn’t vote.
Democrats are looking for matches that are open-minded, describe themselves as “global citizens” and are well-traveled.
Republicans say they’re most interested in a potential partner who describes themselves as “hardworking” and “family oriented."
