The Park Fire in Northern California is now bigger than the city of LA and has forced thousands of residents to evacuate. The Butte County Sheriff's Office received a frantic call from someone who wasn't allowed back into their neighborhood to get their Rottweiler and her four puppies.
Search and rescue official Trevor Skaggs heard about this and said "not on my watch"! He was flown into the area by helicopter. He then ran 1.5 miles through the flames to reach the pups. He found the mother and puppies alive but exhausted and thirsty. Skaggs gave them water and food before leading them back through the fire to the helicopter.
North Valley Animal Disaster Group says "It's been a horrific few days for our community and we are grateful to be able to share this amazing story."
