Morgan Wallen grew up like so many kids playing Little League baseball on an old baseball field in their hometown.
He was recently made aware that the last time the field in Jefferson City, Tennessee had been renovated was when he was a player. Morgan asked about what kind of renovations they'd like to make. The biggest cost is actually replacing the entire field to allow them to play not only LL, but softball and tee ball. Morgan then stroked a check for 100 grand that will not only make that happen but get them a new fence, backstop, dugout, and press box at Roy Harmon Park. The improvements are expected to be completed by next spring so the 2025 season will be played in the all new facility.
Robbie Britt, president of the Jefferson City Little League tells WATE-TV “The community is excited. They are ecstatic on bringing back softball, I have parents come up to me and say, ‘are we going to get softball?’ I get the question all the time and I think that’s the most exciting thing coming to our future. I know I have a lot of parents ask about it all the time and I know they’re very excited to see that happen.”
