Lending Tree ran a survey of 2000 Americans about their views and how they have changed the last few years due to inflation.
The view of 78% of Americans is fast food is now a luxury compared to 18% who felt that way in 2020.
Three in four people polled typically eat fast food at least once a week, but 62% of them say they’re eating it less because of rising prices.

Consumers are also frustrated by the fact that fast food prices are outpacing general inflation numbers since 2014..
Overall, Americans rank Chick-fil-A as the most high-end fast food chain (25%), followed by Starbucks (22%) and then Chipotle (21%)
