Most Americans Now Consider Fast Food A Luxury.

Lending Tree ran a survey of 2000 Americans about their views and how they have changed the last few years due to inflation.

The view of 78% of Americans is fast food is now a luxury compared to 18% who felt that way in 2020.

Three in four people polled typically eat fast food at least once a week, but 62% of them say they’re eating it less because of rising prices.

65% have been shocked by the high price of a fast food bill in the last six months.

67% of respondents say fast food should be cheaper than eating at home but most agree prices at the drive thru are more than a home cooked meal...

Consumers are also frustrated by the fact that fast food prices are outpacing general inflation numbers since 2014..

Overall, Americans rank Chick-fil-A as the most high-end fast food chain (25%), followed by Starbucks (22%) and then Chipotle (21%)
