A pair of teens in Greensboro, North Carolina, working at Lake Higgins became heroes this weekend!
About 2pm Saturday 18 year old Trey Cobb, spotted two men in a fishing boat that had flipped on its side. One man was trying to hold it up and a disabled man was stuck in the boat.
Trey yelled to his buddy, Derek, and both jumped to swim out to the boat.
Trey says “We grabbed one guy out and pulled him out, and we were just holding the other guy because he couldn’t get out himself. I’m just glad he’s alright. We ended up keeping the boat on its side and dragged it back to the dock where we could get the guy with one leg out.
John Lennox, saw what was happening and called 911.
The swift actions from the three men meant that by the time first responders arrived, the boat was already back at the pier. Fortunately, no one was hurt during the incident. Now the teens are being hailed as heroes, but Cobb says he’s just relieved that everyone involved is safe.
