Alisha Hendrickson is being called a hero for her quick actions during a fiery car crash in Lebanon, Oregon. March 9th about 11:30 PM Alisha was on her way home when she spotted flames by the roadside and came upon a car engulfed in fire with three teenagers trapped inside. Despite the danger, Hendrickson managed to rescue 16-year-old Dominic Pirtle from the car and pull him to safety. “As I was walking up to the car. I can feel the heat of the flames, but the moment I open that door it was like he [Dominic] was in this bubble being protected. I couldn’t feel the heat anymore. The flames hadn’t gotten to him yet. I had the strength to pick up 160 pound kid and just pull them out of the car like a limp toddler. He’s groaning and he says I can’t move. So, I was just like okay, I got to get to work. Thankfully the seat handle broke off, but there was still a metal piece. I was able to lift it up, pull the seat all the way back.”
Emergency crews arrived just as Hendrickson got Pirtle safely away from the car, and she then tended to brothers, 18-year-old Matthew Wilkinson and 17-year-old Logan Wilkinson, who were lying on the ground. Logan was airlifted to a hospital and underwent a lengthy surgery. Both he and Dominic are expected to recover fully, thanks to Hendrickson's timely intervention.
Heather Wilkinson, Logan's mother, expressed immense gratitude towards Hendrickson, calling her an angel for saving their children's lives. Despite the severity of the crash, all the teenagers survived, and her bravery and quick thinking played a crucial role in their rescue and eventual recovery. For her part, Hendrickson says she’s just grateful that she happened to be in the right place at the right time.
