American's currently owe 1.1 trillion dollars in credit card debt! The folks in Alaska are the most in debt with a median bill of just over $3,500. West Virginia has the lowest median at a little over $2,100 owed.
South Carolina came in 17th overall with median debt of $2,664.
The thing that makes it more alarming is that if you factor median income in South Carolina of $45,601 per year, our state is ranked #1 as least sustainable according to Wallet Hub.
