James Kroeger lives outside of Buffalo NY. As a young man he was excited to become a first time dad. And the sacred event happened December 25th 1982! To commemorate the day James decided to give his newborn son Bubba a unique first birthday gift. A time capsule. He filled a box with the hottest things of 1982.
Magazines, vinyl records, books, and baseball cards as well as a pair of Jordache jeans, which his son says aren’t quite his style anymore. But the items that had him cracking open the time capsule were unopened VHS tapes of Rocky I, II, & III, Rocky III being a huge hit in 1982.
For Bubba's 40th birthday they opened it up. They decided after laughing for a while to put em all up for auction.
Kroeger has the VHS tapes listed with an auction house and he was told they could fetch as much as $25-thousand each! Bidding for the tapes is up to $10-thousand for the collection and the auction ends today (2/17), so click here if you want to get your bid in.
Bubba, plans to us the proceeds from the auction towards his daughters college fund. .
