Nashville, North Carolina is a little town between Raleigh and the coast and this week they saw a small miracle, Construction workers brought a toddler to the Nashville Fire Department after finding him running down the middle of the road.
The fire department contacted local law enforcement, who took custody of the child and contacted child protective services. The boy wasn’t able to give them any specific information about where he’d come from, so law enforcement began canvassing the area.
Because the area was so large, additional law enforcement was called in to assist. They spent hours going door to door with a picture of the boy asking if anyone knew him. Then at 5:10 police K-9 Renzo was brought in to sniff the boy. After about 15 minutes of Renzo casting the area, he picked up a scent and by 5:30 led first responders to the boy’s front door!
Police determined that the boy had been under the supervision of an older sibling who . The child was later reunited with his parents and law enforcement is working with child protective services to ensure this doesn’t happen again in the future.
