A 30-year-old woman was walking alone early in the morning in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood when a car pulled up next to her. A man got out of the car, approached the woman, grabbed her by the shoulder and started pulling her toward the vehicle. Fortunately, a man nearby witnessed the attempted abduction and confronted the would-be kidnapper.
The anonymous dog walker out for a morning walk was watching from the corner of his eye as the car approached the woman. When he saw the man grab her, he intervened and the man got back in the vehicle and fled, but not before the good Samaritan could shoot a can of pepper spray into the car.
The good Samaritan later told reporters that he didn’t want to be called a hero. No arrests have been made, but the investigation is still ongoing.
