Artem is a former powerlifting chammpion and is now beginning work as a trainer and his wife is working as a cartographer. But still have very little money and desperately need a car.

. With a budget of $4-thousand they came across Emmanuel Ferran’s white Mazda 3 he had for sale.

Ferran is a former refugee whose mother fled the civil war in El Salvador when he was a boy. His mother also told him about the help she had making it in the U.S.. So when it came time to sign over the car to the Poleshchuks, Ferran wouldn’t take their money. But he didn’t just give away the car. In exchange for the title, he had one request: a pie. "I had heard about a Ukrainian dessert that is suppossed to be amazing so I asked if they knew how to make it.

Karyna stayed up all night baking a Sharlotka apple cake, a traditional cake that she had learned how to make from her mother. And Emmanuel thinks he may have gotten the better of the deal. , “That was a really good pie."!
