There is a video of 54 year old Kevin Ford celebrating his 27th anniversary at the Burger King in the Las Vegas airport. He got "special recognition" for never missing a day of work!
They gave him a goodie bag that contained a movie ticket, some candy, a Starbucks cup, lanyard, pens, and a keychain. Although in the video of him going through his bag Kevin is genuinely excited to receive this, social media was underwhelmed.
Someone started a go fund me page for Kevin which led to supporters donating over $250-thousand so he could took time off from Burger King and spend time with his family. One of the first was David Spade who gave $5000 and a message of encouragement for working so hard.
Wednesday, Kevin went on the “Today” show to talk about the outpouring of support he’s received from around the world and had an emotional on-air reunion with his daughter and three grandchildren, who he’s not seen in four years.
Ford’s daughter Seryna says the kindness her dad has received from total strangers has meant a lot to them and she had nothing but praise for her father. “My dad deserves the world … he made me the person that I am.”
