Ava Guan is a waitress at Hoshun Restaurant in New Orleans. She is also a member of a tiny church in Metairie LA named Mount Olive Lutheran Church. As NOLA.com reports Ava loves her church. She moved to Louisiana from Hong Kong 30 years ago when she was 15 and has been a member of this church almost since the day she arrived. The church recently announced that their AC unit was dying and they needed folks to give a little more so they could get a new unit. Ava says she felt stretched financially every month as it was but when she was praying about how she could help she felt God told her to give $300. That would be the biggest donation she had ever made by a lot! Plus with rising gas prices and her 60 minute round trip daily commute she was to say at the very least uncomfortable with this idea.
Ava says God reassured her that He had her finances in order. She said a prayer, gulped and gave the money. That very day she was working the dinner shift when she waited on a man we later discovered is Abdul Hamideh. He was celebrating the fact that he opened another IHOP. Ava didn't know who he was but actually joked that he might be ordering too much food. He assured her that he would take home any leftovers. His bill came to $63.00. But because Abdul believes in the luck of #7 he left her a $777 tip!
Ava says God proved to her more than ever that He is real and can be depended on.
