The definition of sexual harassment just got wider in the UK.
Calling a man bald is sexual harassment, according to an employment tribunal in the UK. The ruling came after Tony Flinn was fired from his electrician job after 24 years. He claimed that sexual harassment played a role, after a supervisor called him bald.
Flinn was actually called bald and another word which many would consider far worse, but it was being called bald that the man felt crossed the line. The tribunal found it inherently related to sex, as baldness is much more prevalent in men than in women.
The good news for Flinn is he will get compensation. Now let’s see if this translates the same in US proceedings!
