The Great Resignation Is Growing!

CNBC reports that 3 percent of Americans quit their jobs last month!

Labor Department figures show four-and-a-half million people voluntarily left their jobs in March, up slightly from the 4.35 million who quit the previous month. That means 5.9% of the population quit their jobs over the past 60 days.

Leisure, hospitality, and manufacturing led the way with the largest increase in job exiting followed by the construction industry. The government also reported a record eleven-and-a-half million job openings at the end of March.

Businesses have been stunned since last spring when the Great Resignation started but the last couple of months have been the worst. Senior labor economist Ron Hetrick says; "Q1 22 will go down as the pit of despair for employers.”

Zip Recruiter calls this the greatest job seeker’s market of all time. That is backed up by the Bureau of Labor Statistics whom starts their latest report with the words "The number of job openings was at a series high of 11.5 million on the last business day of March
