SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is now the world's richest person – he tops Forbes' latest billionaires list replacing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos as the new number one. According to “Forbes,” Musk has a net worth of $219-billion…and that doesn't include his new equity stake in Twitter.
Bezos has held the top spot for the last four years. Musk's personal fortune got a big boost from a nearly 60% gain in Tesla's stock price over the last 12 months. As for Bezos, don’t feel too badly for him – he fell to second place with an estimated net worth of $171-billion.
In the entertainment world, Rihanna and “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson have made the cut for the first time (he’s #1,929). She, as the world’s richest female musician thanks to her beauty empire (she’s #1,729). He, for some smart business moves (he’s #1,929).
