The American Federation of Teachers tweeted a photo of its president, Randi Weingarten, with vice president, Evelyn DeJesus, holding a poster that says “We stand with Ukraine” on a Ukrainian flag. Unfortunately for them the flag they created was wrong. The flag of Ukraine is supposed to symbolize a clear blue sky over a bountiful field of grain. They had made it upside down. It would be easy to say 'we just held it upside down but they had gone through the trouble of printing the posters with a dove resting on the line between the 2 colors, and added the words AFL-CIO WE STAND WITH UKRAINE.
So as people complained they decided to that the best move was to delete their tweet. President Randi apologized in a tweet. "The flag is upside down. My bad. So I am deleting the tweet".
Unfortunately that wasn't the end of it.
Corey DeAngelis, the national director for school choice now, pointed out in a tweet that Randi's hashtag misspelled the country! #Stand With Ukriane
