Betty White's Final Words

Betty White called out the name of her late husband moments before she passed away on New Year’s Eve. She was married to Allen Ludden from 1963 until his death in 1981 from stomach cancer at the age of 63.

We know this courtesy of Vicki Lawrence–Betty’s “Mama’s Family” co-star. “I texted Carol[Burnett] and said, ‘This just sucks. I hate this. It’s just horrible to see the people you love so much go away,’” she said. “Carol wrote back and said, ‘I know, I know. I spoke to Betty’s assistant, who was with her when she passed, and she said the very last word out of her mouth was ‘Allen.’”

Vicki responded, “How sweet is that? I said, ‘That is so sweet. God, I hope that’s true. For all of us, I really hope it’s true! What a lovely thought.’”

40 years later she is reunited with the man she never stopped loving.
