Life Changes For Homeless Man With Parkinson’s After Woman Shares His Story

Craig Pitts met Chandra Proch while he was standing with his dog, Ninja, and a sign asking for help at a shopping center in Aurora Colorado. Chandra went to McDonald’s to grab some food for Craig and what happened next made her want to do more.

As she left, she looked back and saw him “kneeling down and giving thanks to God and feeding the dog and that just made me start crying,” Chandra explains. So she posted about Craig and Ninja on Nextdoor and offers of help started rolling in. Janet Kaminski read it and drove down there to meet Craig. Janet says "He changed me the minute I met him." So even though she is struggling a bit herself she decided to pay for them to spend the night in a hotel.

Another unnamed person made a dog bed for Ninja to sleep on. Then a GoFundMe campaign was launched and raised more than $13-thousand to help him get back on his feet.

Channel 7 Denver interviewed Craig who said; “I just thank God for what has happened to me! It's so hard for me to believe that someone would do that for another person.” Some of the people who helped Craig feel like this helped them more than it did him. Janet says; "When you become part of something bigger than yourself, it's life-changing, It started a consuming fire of kindness and love that I pray never stops."
