Some Good News From The Florida Condo Collapse

For 2 weeks now American's have watched in horror as rescue operations have continued at the collapse of the 13 story condo in Surfside Florida. As of this morning they have recovered 90 victims and the fear is that there are many more in the rubble.

The Gonzales family is one of those stories with Edgar Gonzales still unaccounted for. But 16 year old Devan and her mother Angela were 2 of the survivors who were with Edgar in unit 904 when it collapsed. They were rescued that same day.

Now 16 days later the family and community celebrate another rescue.

Binx the cat was spotted by volunteers near the rubble at the Surfside, Florida site and has been reunited with his family.

Binx was taken to a local animal shelter, where he was positively identified as the pet of a family who lived in the building. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said “I'm glad that this small miracle could bring some light into the lives of a hurting family today, and provide a bright spot for our whole community in the midst of this terrible tragedy.”
