Mackenzie Pearson, a student at Clemson University, was the first to publish the term "dad bod". She described a dad bod as “a nice balance between a beer gut and working out. The dad bod says, I go to the gym occasionally, but I also drink heavily on the weekends and enjoy eating eight slices of pizza at a time. It's not an overweight guy, but it isn't one with washboard abs, either”.
After her report went viral companies started polling people on Dad Bod attitudes. The most recent study finds that 69% of women say they find a dad bod attractive! 59% of women say they prefer a man with a dad bod to someone who is really muscular. 64% of men with dad bods insist they are comfortable in their own skin.
So, what do gals like about a dad bod? 80% say a dad bod represents a man who is confident in their own skin.
