China launched a rocket on April 29th. Now the 21 ton 100 foot long is coming back down and no one knows where. NASA is tracking it and it's moving about 4.5 miles per second! Last May a Long March 5B rocket also fell victim to uncontrolled re-entry and missed NYC by 15 minutes.
SpaceNews reports the re-entry of the current rocket is "impossible to predict due to the vagaries of orbital decay". In other words we don't know how big the chunks will be once this breaks up on re entry and how that will change their direction.
