Maddox O'Connor was born with a rare form of muscular dystrophy called Mitochondrial disease, but he doesn’t want that to define him and wants to be known for his acts of kindness instead.
The 10-year-old from Fisher Indiana has already started a nonprofit, Maddox's Mission, to support his goal. Through it, he recently donated 200 “blessing bags” to the Fishers Police Department. The bags contain snacks, water, and basic necessities like a toothbrush and tissues and they’ll be given to local homeless people.
Maddox said "I was tired of being known as the kid with Muscular Dystrophy, so I became the kid known for blessing bags".
The Fishers Police Department took to Twitter to thank Maddox for his donation and tell his story.
