McDonald’s has decided to go big in the Chicken Sandwich War with the announcement of three new chicken sandwiches scheduled to show up on February 24th. Here are the new additions:
- Spicy Chicken Sandwich– with a spicy pepper sauce
- Crispy Chicken Sandwich– with pickles on a toasted, buttered potato roll
- Deluxe Chicken Sandwich– includes shredded lettuce, Roma tomatoes and mayonnaise
Shake Shack is entering the war as well with their Korean-style Fried Chick’n sandwich, which features a crispy breast with a spicy-sweet gochujang (gochu-jang) fermented chili paste, white kimchi slaw and toasted sesame seeds. In addition to the sandwich, there’s the six-piece Korean-style Gochujang Chick’n Bites featuring the same fermented chili paste.
And that’s not the only addition to the menu. To go with the sandwich they’ll be selling Korean-style gochujang fries, which is basically their crinkle-cut fries with gochujang mayo, and a Black Sugar Vanilla Shake, featuring vanilla frozen custard, black sugar syrup and topped with whipped cream. They will be available nationwide until April 5th.
