States Ranked By Fattest Citizens

WalletHub set out to determine the “Fattest” states in the country. They looked at each state on a variety of factors in areas of obesity and overweight prevalence, health consequences and food and fitness. Factors considered include share of overweight and obese adults and children, share of adults with high cholesterol, obesity-related death rate, fast food restaurants per capita and more. It basically looks like a map of the SEC , with 8 of the 10 states being repped in the Southeastern conference. However the overall winner is West Virginia was named the “Fattest” state in the country, scoring a 74.66. It ranked number one for health consequences and two for obesity and overweight prevalence. Mississippi, which ranks two overall, is tops for obesity and overweight prevalence. South Carolina came in 6th fattest. Georgia came in 17th and North Carolina 22nd.
