DeAngelo Williams is committed to fighting breast cancer after losing his mother and four aunts to the disease. ThroughThe DeAngelo Williams Foundationhe has covered the cost of 500 mammograms since he started sponsoring the screenings in 2015.
In 2014, Williams’ mother died from breast cancer when she was only 53 years old. His “53 Strong for Sandra” program has provided free mammograms at hospitals in several states and the foundation hopes to expand to reach all 50 states in the future.
“To be able to help all these women is amazing,” Williams says. “We are enabling them to get this care that no one should ever be denied or not have access to.”
