Thanks to the kindness of a stranger, a Chicago area family got to enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the movies.Jennifer Daly says she and her kids were recently forced to leave a Lake in the Hills theater after someone complained to management that her 3 year old son, Jonathan, was disrupting the film by laughing too loud. Jonathan has a rare form of dwarfism and cervical spine issues. Last Friday they took him to the 7:30 showing of Disney’s “Dumbo” remake at their local AMC Theater.
Daly’s sadness over the situation led to her to express her frustrations on Facebook. Her post has garnered a huge outpouring of support — nearly 7,000 reactions and almost 5,000 shares in just one day.
One of the people who saw it on Facebook had no connection with the family and had actually never been to Illinois., Beau Box from Louisiana reached out to help. He rented out an entire theater for the Daly family and close to 40 other kids with special needs. The mom says when she posted about the incident on social media, she had no idea it would lead to this wonderful gift. Beau says “I thought it was sad that Jonathan couldn’t see the movie, and I love going to the movies and I think everybody should be able to see a movie even if they have special needs,”
