Woman is reunited with dog she lost as a child

Kate Griffin loved her childhood dog, Cami. The Park Ridge, Illinois native was separated from her blonde, fluffy dog through her parents’ divorce, though. They gave Cami to a trusted friend to re-home.

Fast forward 11 years. Griffin is out walking when she spies two dogs; one black and one blonde. She swears the blondie is her Cami!  "I got that same feeling of excitement in my gut that I’d feel every time I came home from school to see her," the 24-year-old college student told TODAY. "It had been so long since I felt it, but there is no other dog I’d see that’d give me that feeling of seeing a family member."

The now 25-year-old dog recognized her and licked her face. Griffin got the dog walker to snap a photo of the encounter to cherish. She also defends her parents to those online upset that she and Cami were separated.
