This is her 3rd week on NBC and advertisers are already bailing on her. Parent groups are demanding her next show be pulled due to a controversial guest.
Parents of children killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School are dropping Megyn Kelly as host of a fundraising event this week. The parents are angry about Kelly's interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.
Jones has claimed the 2012 mass murder of 20 children and six educators at the school in Newtown, Connecticut was faked by gun control advocates and that the grieving parents are really actors. Jones also claimed the government was behind the 9-11 terrorist attacks and the Oklahoma City bombing.
Kelly's interview with Jones is scheduled to air Sunday night on NBC, but it will do so without ads from J.P. Morgan Chase which pulled all commercials over the interview. Others have confirmed they are still evaluating the idea of pulling out. They include Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, T. Rowe Price and Delta Air Lines. Chelsea Clinton is among those slamming the peacock network for allowing a platform for Jones.
Kelly defends the decision by pointing out the President Trump has appeared on Jones’ radio show and gives InfoWars, his website, passes to the White House briefings.
There is no justification for amplifying lies (or a liar), particularly about unimaginable tragedy. I hope no parent, no person watches this https://t.co/nSt1MGGM2U— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) June 12, 2017
If Megyn Kelly felt it was so critical to shine a light on Alex Jones why didn't she feature him on any of her Fox primetime specials?— Yashar Ali (@yashar) June 13, 2017
