Katy Perry is ready to put an end to her feud with Taylor Swift once and for all. Katy spent the weekend promoting her new album, “Witness,” with a live stream, and during the 96-hour YouTube event she apologized to Taylor in the hopes it would put their rivalry to bed.
"I am ready to let it go," she told Ariana Huffington for the The Thrive Global Podcast. "I forgive her and I'm sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her.” She added, “I think it's actually like, I think it's time. There are bigger fish to fry, and there are real problems in the world. You know what I'm saying?"
Katy went on to praise her rival. "I love her, and I want the best for her," she said, calling Taylor a “fantastic songwriter,” and saying she hoped they could be “representatives of strong women that come together despite their differences."
- “I don't know. Maybe I don't agree with everything she does and she doesn't agree with everything I do, but I just really, truly want to come together in a place of love and forgiveness and understanding and compassion,” Katy added before breaking into “Let It Go” from “Frozen.” “There's a lot of other things out there in the world that people need to be focused on. God bless her on her journey. God bless her. Honestly."
- Also during the live stream Katy chatted Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh, host of Viceland’s "The Therapist," and opened up about having suicidal thoughts in the past. "I feel ashamed that I would have those thoughts, feel that low, and that depressed," she said. "You can be right, or you can be loved. I just want to be loved."
- James Corden also stopped by the livestream and asked Katy to rank her ex-boyfriends based on their expertise in the bedroom. From worst to best, she ranked Diplo at the bottom, with John Mayer above him and Orlando Bloom getting the nod as the best, although she added, "They're all amazing lovers and I would have sex with all of them when I get out of this place!"
