Gamecocks still alive in SEC Tournament

The Gamecock baseball team has gone through a lot of adversity this year with injuries to stars, bad calls by umps and overall slumps. In fact the only way most people expect them to make the NCAA Tournament is to win the SEC Tournament. In the storied history of Gamecock baseball they have only won the SEC tournament once, in 2004. Hoover AL seems to be a cursed ballpark for the Gamecocks who haven't even won a game in 4 years.

It wasn't easy yesterday with the game against Vanderbilt being tied after 9 innings. It was still tied in the 11th when Gamecocks loaded the basses, with 2 outs and a 3-2 count the pitcher threw another ball to walk in the winning run. For insurance the next batter hit a double to bring in 2 more runs.

After the 7-4 win the Gamecocks have to play Kentucky today. The game had been scheduled for 10:30 but due to the Georgia game being rained out last night that game will play at 10 and the Gamecock's will start 30 minutes after that game ends. Approximately 2p
